Volkswagen and Audi Class Action – In-principle settlement
Bannister Law has successfully reached an in-principle settlement of the class actions against Volkswagen Group Australia and Audi Australia on behalf of vehicle owners of approximately 100,000 Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda branded vehicles with 1.6L and 2.0L EA189 engines.
The settlement terms remain confidential, however the Volkswagen Group has agreed, without admission of liability, to pay $87 million and $127 million, to vehicle owners. The settlement will need to be approved by the Federal Court of Australia. The payment structure will depend on the number of vehicle owners who come forward to claim and other parameters.
“We are pleased to have achieved an outcome for Australian consumers, we would encourage those affected to come forward after the settlement has been approved by the court.”
Bannister Law Principal, Charles Bannister
